Hi,

Thank you so much for choosing to support me here on Bindery as I start on the path to one day publish the LGBTQ+ stories I love reading and uplifting with you. As a member of my Bindery, I want to lay out my boundaries as a creator and what I expect from you as a community member.

Please carefully read the rules. These rules apply to both Bindery and Discord. I take these rules very seriously to help ensure that my safety and privacy is valued here in our community. I strive to make my community and content a safe space for everyone and that includes myself.

I have a zero tolerance policy for breaking the rules in my Bindery. If you break any of these rules, you will be given a warning at first. But if the behavior continues, it will result in a permanent ban from my Bindery to ensure the safety of myself and others. I do not tolerate being disrespected and I hope you will help cultivate the safe space I’ve created.

RULES

  1. Be kind and respectful. Please help foster a positive and inclusive environment. Avoid making any rude or mean comments. This also applies to talking badly about anyone in the community, authors, and/or other book creators. Unless you are mentioning an author who behaved badly and informing someone about their behavior, any discussion involving bad-mouthing an author will not be tolerated.

  2. No hate speech, homophobia, racism, transphobia, bullying, or ableism is tolerated.

  3. Do not speculate about my life. You only know the version of myself that I portray online. I am very private about my life. Therefore, when I share something personal, I am choosing to tell you. It’s not up for debate or speculation. Any comments speculating about my life will be deleted.

  4. I am not available for private conversations. If you’d like to interact with me to talk about books or my content, please keep it on Discord. I will answer comments on Patreon related videos, if I find it necessary. Otherwise, I will not interact with you privately unless it’s about your Patreon membership. This includes not receiving a card, questions or concerns about your payment or access to your membership.

  5. No unsolicited advice - By becoming a Bindery member, you are supporting me and my content. However, it does not allow you to comment or dictate on how my videos are created. I will delete your comment if I feel it is not constructive and/or disrespectful.  Unless I have specifically asked for feedback, please do not make comments about any editing choices I’ve made or how I’ve discussed a book. This does not apply to holding me accountable if I need to be called in for a mistake I’ve made.

  6. Do not ask me questions about being a trans man. Yes, it is a part of my identity but at the end of the day, I am simply a trans man who talks about LGBTQIA+ books online. My content is strictly about books and if I want to share about being trans, it will be on my own accord. Please do not ask for any advice about my experience, deadname, etc. There are plenty of great resources online that can answer your questions if you’re questioning your gender identity.  CLICK HERE to view resources from The Trevor Project.

Comment deletion and member blocking is always left to my discretion. If you break any of these rules after being given a warning, this will result in a permanent ban from my Bindery.
Members will be warned ahead of time unless interacting with you affects my safety.

We are all adults here. Therefore, I expect everyone to act maturely and respect myself and the other members of our community.

Sincerely,

Alex

Hi everyone! This weekend is our seasonal readathon to celebrate summer! It goes from Friday, July 10th to Tuesday, July 14th starting at midnight in your time zone and going until 11:59PM to Tuesday, July 14th (in your time zone). Join us in Discord!

The Rules: This is a laid-back readathon. Read as much or as little as possible, mood read or use the bingo card linked below. My only ask is that the books you're reading have queer rep and/or are written by a BIPOC author. I'm cultivating a space where we diversify our reading.

I'll be hosting sprints for free and paid members on Sunday, July 12th from 12pm to 3pm EST. CLICK HERE to access the stream. I'll make an official post leading up to the sprints for an extra reminder. The stream will be available to access afterward.

For anyone who wants it, I created a bingo card. CLICK HERE to access the bingo card.
